Welcome to Dressage at Yorkshire Riding Centre
Yorkshire Riding Centre is delighted to welcome competitors to our Dressage competitions, offering classes from Introductory to Advanced Medium. Whether you are making your British Dressage debut, gaining experience, or working towards Regional and National Championships, we strive to provide a friendly, welcoming and professionally run competition for riders of all ages and abilities.
Venue Facilities
On-site catering available throughout the day.
Two indoor arenas and two outdoor arenas.
Showjumping and cross-country facilities.
Ample horsebox and trailer parking.
Stabling available by prior arrangement. Please contact the organiser to book.
Entries
Two tests for £40 per combination or 1 test for £23
All entries must be submitted online by the published closing date.
Late entries may be accepted at the organiser's discretion, subject to availability.
No entries will be accepted once the running order and times have been published.
Amendments to entries cannot be made after times have been published.
Entries are non-transferable and may not be transferred to another rider, horse or session.
The organiser reserves the right to alter session times or the running order if necessary. Where possible, a minimum of 48 hours' notice will be given to affected participants.
All riders must hold appropriate public liability insurance for the duration of the event.
By submitting an entry, participants agree to comply with the event rules and instructions issued by the organiser and to follow current British Dressage, British Eventing, British Show Jumping and/or British Horse Society standards for safety and welfare.
All riders must wear correctly fitted protective headwear that meets current recognised safety standards appropriate to the activity being undertaken. Additional protective equipment may be required depending on the discipline.
The welfare of the horse is paramount. Horses must be fit to participate, be in good health, and be transported in accordance with current welfare legislation.
Times
Start times will be published online from 11.00 am on the Wednesday preceding the competition.
Competitors are responsible for checking their own times prior to the event.
Times or classes can not be altered once published.
If you require a reader for your test we are happy to provide this additional service at the charge of £2 per test.
This MUST be pre-booked and paid for with your entry.
Any requests for a reader on the day will be charged at £5 per test.
PLEASE NOTE: If your horse has recently shown any symptoms such as a temperature, runny nose or cough please do not attend as this could be contagious.
DO NOT allow your horse to make contact with others along with not making contact yourself with any other horse. This is for bio-security reasons.
ALL HORSES MUST HAVE AN UP TO DATE VACCINATION RECORD
Refund Policy
Withdrawals received after the closing date for entries are not eligible for a refund.
Withdrawals received in writing at least 7 days before the closing date will be eligible for a 50% refund.
If the event is cancelled by the organiser, a refund of the entry fee will be issued, less a £2.50 administration fee.
Where a refund is applicable, the Horse Monkey booking fee (£1.99) is non-refundable, as this charge is paid directly to Horse Monkey and is not retained by the organiser.
Health and Safety
The safety and welfare of all participants, horses, officials and spectators is of paramount importance. By attending this event, all participants agree to comply with the following Health and Safety requirements:
Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a lead at all times and are not permitted in any arena, warm-up area or designated horse walkways.
Smoking and vaping are not permitted anywhere on the venue.
Horses must not be left tied to a horsebox or trailer unattended at any time.
Horses must not be led in either a headcollar or bridle through the parking areas or grassed areas unless directed by an event official.
Horses and pedestrians are not permitted within the courtyard of Barolin Farm or the Barolin Cottages.
Horses are not permitted within the catering or designated spectator car parking areas.
Arena entrances and exits must be kept clear at all times. Spectators should use the designated viewing galleries and must not enter the working-in or competition arenas unless authorised.
Lunging is not permitted in any arena unless specifically authorised by the organiser.
All participants must comply with the Yorkshire Riding Centre venue rules and any instructions given by event officials or stewards.
The public footpath and bridleway running through the Yorkshire Riding Centre must remain clear at all times. This includes the driveway and the area adjacent to the lower indoor arena. Horses must not be ridden, led or handled in these areas.
All riders are strongly advised to hold appropriate public liability insurance. Riders attending coaching sessions must hold valid public liability insurance.
Riders must wear protective headwear that complies with current recognised safety standards appropriate to the activity being undertaken.
Air jackets are not permitted during group coaching sessions or while using shared warm-up arenas at competitions. Other appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including body protectors where applicable, is permitted and encouraged.
Any accident, incident, injury or unsafe practice must be reported immediately to the organiser or an event official.
The organiser reserves the right to ask any participant or spectator who fails to comply with these Health and Safety requirements to leave the venue.
