Team Competition

All riders are to be current full members of BD or Dressage Ireland.

All horses / ponies must have full BD or Dressage Ireland registration.


For riders wishing to compete in the FEI classes please refer to the Rule book for age eligibility

 

Points will be awarded for placings in the team classes, 1st - 1 point 10th - 10 points etc. to the end of the class.  To calculate the Team results, the highest points’ score of each team will be discounted each day.  

 

Rosettes will be awarded to top 10 teams, prizes and medals will be awarded to 1st – 3rd teams and sashes to winning team.  The Cool Technic Perpetual Trophy will also be presented to the winning team.

Individual Competition

Individual winners will be awarded at each of the below levels:

 

The individual competition at Novice to Medium levels will be determined from the combined percentages from the team classes over the 2 days.

 

The individual FEI competition at each level will be determined from the combined results from the FEI classes over the 2 days.   

 

Rosettes will be awarded for the 1st to 10th place for individuals in each Championship.  Sashes will be awarded to the winners and prizes from 1st to 3rd place.

 

Number of entries

 

Each Region / Nation will be allocated 4 teams (12 riders); regions may also select one individual rider at each of the FEI levels (children on horses, pony, junior, young rider).  Additional teams and FEI combinations may be considered once initial nominations are known.

 

General Entry Information


Entries must be submitted by the RDO or BD Youth Rep  

 

Entries will be made via each Region’s RDO online through Bookwhen.  Paper entries will not be accepted. The RDO will then will the make the entries on behalf of the teams.  The RDO’s will then transfer entries to the show Secretary and payments:

There will be no refunds given on withdrawals of stables or class entries after close of entry.  Substitutions may be made but will be arranged directly with your RDO.

 

Passports: 

 Valid passports are required for all horses and ponies with a vaccination record in compliance of rule 9.listed on page 58 of the BD Members Handbook.  

Photocopies of the front page of the passport together with the vaccination record must be sent to the RDO / BD Youth rep for each region to be submitted at the close of entries. Passports must also be presented at the competition.

 

It is the rider’s responsibility to ensure that passport documentation is up-to-date and complies with the BD rules. Any horse / pony with a non-compliant passport will not be allowed to compete.     

 

There are limited stallion boxes available – only available if requested and space permits, please request via your RDO – DO NOT CONTACT THE VENUE

 

Horse Inspection (Trot Up)


The horse inspection for all competitors will take place on Friday 26 July 2019 at approximately 2pm. Riders are to be dressed in team clothing with sensible footwear and wear an appropriate riding hat and gloves. Snaffle bridles only. 

Horse passports must be handed to your RDO/Team Manager by office by 11.00 am on Friday 26 July 2019. Please note that the Secretary will only deal with Chefs d’equipe and if your Chef is going to be late, then a nominated person must be appointed and notified to the Secretary in advance. Official information will only be given to Chefs d’equipe or their nominated representative.

 

Arena Familiarisation 

 

Each region will be allocated a time slot of approximately 10 – 15 minutes on Friday afternoon to exercise horses/ponies within the competition arenas. Riders will be permitted to ride inside the arenas.

General Rules of the show

 

All classes, will be run under BD Rules including the member’s code of conduct.


Please see BD Handbook page 146 rule 166 for the definition of the use of whips and commanders for this competition. 


For clarity – they will not be permitted in in any team or FEI classes but may be used for warm up classes


Results will be recorded but no grading points will be awarded.  

During the show, only the competitor may school the horse from the saddle. Specific competition rules for this event are available via the regional BD Youth representative or RDO.   

Teams will be selected in accordance with the Regional Team Selection Policy. Riders may not have competed at the Senior Inter Regionals Championship or Senior Home International in the same year.

Warm up tests do not count towards individual or team rankings. 

This is a friendly international and teams will, for the duration of the show, in line with their governing body, be allowed to wear the appropriate pocket badge and numnah badge. All badges must be removed after the competition. 

 

Lorry Park

 

Parking will be in regions.  Hook ups are available and must be booked directly with the Secretary at the time of entering.

 

Stabling

 

On site stabling.   A £10 cash deposit will be required on arrival prior to stable allocation from all riders.  This will be refunded in full on departure once the stables have been thoroughly checked and mucked out and left empty.

Shavings must be used.  You may bring your own shavings if you wish.   Please advise at the time of booking if you will be bringing your own bedding.  

           

Please muck out stables thoroughly before departure leaving them as you would expect to find them – your deposit will then be returned.

Please note that access to the stables will from 1400 on Thursday 25 July.  Stables must be vacated by 1800 on Sunday 28 July unless pre booked.  Late departures on Monday 29 may be accommodated by prior agreement with the Secretary.   

 

Camping

Camping is permitted, there is plenty of grassed space adjacent to the lorry parks.

 

Warm up Arena

The arenas will be available for exercise but only when an official or steward is in attendance.  The opening times will be posted at the Secretary/Score Board.

When the competition is taking place, horses competing will be given priority to use the warmup arenas and non-competing competitors must leave if requested. Two Bridle numbers must be worn at all times, only one is required if horses are in head collars.  

 

Chefs D’Equipe

There will be a Chefs D’Equipe meeting on Friday morning at approx. 12 noon in the Secretary’s office.

Prize Giving

Prize giving will take place approximately 1 hour after the last test has finished on Sunday 28 July.  All competitors must be in full riding attire and the presentation will be dismounted.  Failure to attend the prize giving may result in prizes being passed down the line.

 

First Aid / Vet / Farrier

On site first aid cover will be provided for the duration of the competition. Although not on site a Vet and Farrier will be on call - please however ensure that your horse / pony is well shod. Contact details will be listed at the score boards. 

 

Photographer

There will be an official photographer on site and photographs will be taken during the event.


If for any reason you do not want your child’s photograph to appear in any publications or web site material please send a note in with your entry form.  Please also ensure that you have completed a formal Photograph consent form and given this to your RDO or BD Youth rep.

 

Toilets and Shower Facilities

There is 24 hour access to toilet and shower facilities on site next to the conservatory.
